Red Lentil Dal
Dal is essentially a lentil soup and one that is common to virtually every corner of India. Not a thin soup, but not quite as thick as a chowder, you can certainly take your time scraping up the last little bits out of the bowl. Or you can take a piece of naan and mop up that way.
Naan Pockets
From a structural standpoint, naan bears a close resemblance to pita bread. So much, in fact, that you can take a piece of naan, form it into a pocket, and stuff it with anything from lamb to chicken to veggies or even cheeses.
Chicken Tikka Masala
You know how garlic bread goes well with Italian food? The same thing goes for garlic naan, particularly with chicken tikka masala. Just tear off a strip, wrap it around a piece of the chicken, let the naan pick up the masala sauce and some of the rice, and you’ll get a flavorful bite every time.
Chicken Korma
This dish may be almost as popular as chicken tikka masala, owing to its lighter degree of spice. In much the same way with the tikka masala, you can use naan to pick up pieces of chicken and mop up the korma sauce.
Tandoori Chicken
Here’s a bit of kitchen trivia: tandoor ovens aren’t just used for cooking up meats and vegetables. They’re also used for baking naan. With this in mind, it’d be silly not to have the two together during a meal. It’d be like eating a hot dog without a bun.
